Welcome to IllustratedATCs.com, the premiere site for professional artists and illustrators as well as experienced art hobbyists to trade, swap and collect hand drawn, painted and mixed media Artist Cards! If you enjoy drawing, painting and illustrating, consider joining our growing art group.

What are ATCs? Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are individual fine art miniatures which are traded between artists. They measure 2.5" x 3.5", the same as commercial trading cards. Artists trade with other artists at live sessions or over the internet. Artists can also join themed swaps with other artist participants and receive a set number of cards in return. Artists generally sign and date the back, and may also include a title and contact information on each of their cards. The Artist Trading Card trend began in Switzerland in 1997 and has been popularized via the internet.

Our juried trading group is comprised of:
  • Illustrators
  • Fine Artists
  • Mixed Media Artists
  • Graphic Designers
  • Talented Art Hobbyists
All types of artists are welcome, as long as you can draw and paint! Anyone who enjoys illustrative style art is encouraged to submit their art and join us.

Art by Sarah Zamora Name: Sarah Zamora (Original Youth)

About You and Your Artt I'm a busy wife, and Mom of 2 young kids who creates art in her spare time to keep me sane! I've always enjoyed 'making stuff', and am basically self-taught, as I have had formal art school training. I like to fly by my whims to create stuff as inspiration strikes, learning as I go.

Favourite Mediums? I like everything! Colored Pencils, Acyrlic paints, layers of papers and found objects all mixed together is my favorite way to go. I really delight in using ephemera and objects other people using discard, and transforming them into new use in my work.

Your Inspirations & Fave Artists? I try to take inspiration from everyday life; photos in a magazine, art in the home of friends, the way the trees catch light, smiles from my kids, and the shared work of others I swap with, all of these things motivate me. I really enjoy the work of colorful classic artists, such as Alexei von Jewlensky, Kees Van Dongen, Van Gogh, as well as modern artists like Martina Shapiro, Teesha Moore, and Paulette Insall. I try not to study or follow any one person's work too closely, as I don't want to be too heavily influenced by another's style. Copy cats aren't cool.

Tips and Tricks Ignore the rules; combine various media to find unique results. Don't be scared by the prices of fancy supplies, use what you have. Be honest in your work, learn from others but seek your own vision. For successful mixed media work (including collage), layer, layer layer! More= more, in most cases, and by adding almost invisible layers of tissue, acetate, glaze, etc. in most cases you will produce more sophisticated results. What sort of cards and themes do you collect? I have a funky and eclectic collection, which fits my personality, I guess. Some of my largest sets include cards in the themes of: The Eiffel Tower, PEZ dispensers, Art Queens, Zetti inspired cards, Tip Top Dolls, Colorful Portraits, and Black/White Doodles. I have sets of cards displayed and framed all over my house!
